Importance of Real Estate Agent Mentoring

A Washington-based real estate professional and entrepreneur, Chad Link has founded three real estate companies and assists thousands of clients in buying or selling their properties. He is the founder and managing broker of Elite Properties and oversees the daily operations of the company and manages a team of over 30 brokers. In addition, Chad Link also mentors real estate professionals.

Mentoring is an important aspect of professional development in the real estate industry which is constantly changing. The overall demands of the industry and changing real estate laws and practices are evolving which calls for mentoring to help professionals learn how to effectively navigate the industry. Mentoring relationships provide an opportunity for real estate agents to learn from seasoned experts on how to advance in their careers.

Mentors serve as a career coach who helps agents identify problems and guides them in achieving the best solution based on their past experiences. Mentors also help introduce their mentees to their professional networks to help them grow and expand their interaction with successful real estate agents.

In addition, upcoming agents should be comfortable sharing their ideas and plans with their mentors who should then be able to provide constructive feedback. Nowadays, some real estate firms have mentoring programs in order to ensure their employee’s professional development is aligned with an organization’s goals.

Holding a Managing Broker’s License in Washington State

Experienced real estate broker Chad Link founded the brokerage firm Elite Properties (EliteProperties360.com) in Lacey, Washington, where he also serves as the managing broker. He takes care of the operations of the office, including recruitment, training, and mentoring of real estate brokers. Chad Link holds a Washington Real Estate Managing Broker’s License.

Under the rules of the Washington State Department of Licensing, two types of real estate licenses are issued in Washington: the broker's license and the managing broker's license. The broker's license is issued to individuals who have completed the required pre-licensing class and have successfully passed the broker licensure exam.

The managing broker's license is given to real estate brokers who demonstrate a higher knowledge base and have complied with the requirements of the managing broker's license, including three years of related work experience, completion of three 30-clock-hour classes, and passing of the managing broker’s exam.

Only those who hold the managing broker's license can become a designated broker. A designated broker owns a sole proprietorship real estate brokerage firm or a significant interest in a partnership in a real estate brokerage firm.

MLB Might Keep Expanded Playoff Format

An experienced real estate broker, Lacey, Washington-based Chad Link serves as the managing broker of Elite Properties, which he founded in 2014. Beyond his professional endeavors, Chad Link enjoys watching sports such as football and baseball.

Major League Baseball (MLB) was forced to make schedule adjustments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020 season featured a shortened 60-game schedule for all teams with an expanded 16-team playoff format. This format was supposed to be temporary, but MLB commissioner Rob Manfred is hoping to make it permanent. He confirmed this during a Hofstra University online event in September and added the concept has support from the “overwhelming majority” of team owners.

Only 10 teams made the playoffs prior to this season, and the schedule featured two wild card games, a five-game League Division Series (LDS) round, seven-game League Championship Series (LCS), and the World Series. The new format, if made permanent, would start with a best-of-three wildcard series in which the top eight teams in both leagues play to earn entry into the LDS. The LDS, LCS, and World Series will be a best of five, best of seven, and best of seven, respectively, as was previously the case.
